One thing many people may not be aware of is that when I entered mainstream politics in 2005, one of my primary objectives was to establish a post-secondary school institution in Techiman. Through persistent efforts and extensive preparatory work, by 2010 we had put in place the necessary infrastructure to begin what was intended to become the Holy Family Nursing and Midwifery College. However, we encountered challenges in securing the required accreditation and affiliation. The then Director of Training, Dr Chris Bayere, advised that we should begin with a certificate programme while we waited for the approval of the Diploma and Midwifery programmes. However, the Catholic Church objected to this arrangement and insisted that we maintain the original plan.
